Dreger: Botterill’s ask for Kane may be dropping

February 22, 2018

As you’d expect, the asking price for rental players is coming down as Monday’s trade deadline approaches.

This from Darren Dreger today on Evander Kane:

What might be changing a little bit, from Jason Botterill’s perspective, is a willingness to come off that hard line which includes a first-round draft pick. Maybe he softens to a second-round draft pick if there’s a better prospect in there.

Kane was once considered the gem of the group, but players like Rick Nash and even the inexpensive Michael Grabner have taken away some of the spotlight.
