Add Pouliot to Sabres rumor mill

It’s been no secret that the Sabres are “open for business” and won’t be afraid to deal anyone besides Jack Eichel for the right price.

Elliotte Friedman mentioned guys like Sam Reinhart, Marco Scandella and Rasmus Ristolainen in particular, and Sportsnet today specifically referenced not only Evander Kane but also Benoit Pouliot.

“Pouliot still brings size and speed. He kills penalties, and despite a reputation for mindless infractions he’s actually rather good at drawing calls for his team.”

It makes perfect sense to get something back for Pouliot, who has a $1.15M cap hit on his one-year deal. As long as he plays well enough to draw interest, there’s a good chance he’ll be traded before the deadline.
